"Drone" takes off in Berestovitsa. Alexander Vnukovich from Bolshaya Berestovitsa made his own drone
The construction of the "aircraft" is made from carbon-fiber, and therefore it is stronger than steel.
The senior master of the Berestovitsky Agricultural Professional Lyceum began working on the project about five years ago, as a police officer. The device was constantly being improved, supplied with new functions and more than once successfully tested, in particular during the search of missing people.
The drone of Alexander Vnukovich can be called self-made “drone”, but the developer does not agree with this definition - the power and technical characteristics of these two “air carrier” are painfully different.
- The average flight speed of the device reaches 75 kilometers per hour, says Alexander. The second point is energy consumption. The drone can be in the air for up to two hours, while the quadcopter will last no more than 15 minutes. And that’s why it can easily run over long distances.
The construction of the "aircraft" is made from carbon-fiber, and therefore it is stronger than steel. But it is much easier - its weight is about one and a half kilograms. According to the author, it is equipped with a unique telemetry system.
- Speaking in simple language, Alexander continues, a kind of “brain” is installed inside the unit, which controls the drone and transmits information to the base ground station, warning about flight modes, gained altitude, a reached point.
The device is controlled by a virtual reality helmet: you tilt your head and you unfold the “winged one”. A childhood dream, and yet the purpose of the complex is the most serious. It can be used by the Emergencies Ministry units to control the fire situation and law enforcement agencies to search for missing people or escaped criminals: a special module with HD resolution allows you to even see the numbers of cars on the road. And, according to the master, a drone can greatly simplify the work of farmers.
- To evaluate, for example, seed germination, the agronomist needs to bypass dozens of hectares, explains the author of the design. It takes more than one day. You can complete the task in just half an hour in online regime with the help of an unmanned aircraft.
By the way, Alexander Vnukovich has been fond of aeromodelling more than ten years, he is the permanent leader of the amateur aircraft model association "Vint". There are about 60 sport winged designs in the master's collection now that are constantly participating in competitions in aircraft modeling. Although, if we count the outdated models that no longer soar into the sky, their number will reach two hundred. And this, of course, is not the limit.
